German Business Visa

If you are a foreigner intending to visit Germany for a short business activity, Manila Visa says that you should file your application for a visa with the German mission having jurisdiction over your place of residence.
Under German immigration law, a foreign businessman who intends to perform short business trips in the country shall be allowed a maximum stay of ninety (90) days, for every six months.

The visa sticker which will be attached on the applicant’s passport shall indicate the number of days he is allowed to stay in the country. Said sticker will also designate the number of times the applicant is allowed to enter the Schengen Area, whether for one, two, or for several (multiple) times.

Schengen States

Under the law, the Schengen states are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Under the Schengen Agreement, all tourist or business visas issued by any of the member states should be held valid and legal by the other member states.
Thus, even if the business visa was obtained by the applicant from a German mission outside the country, should his business activity lead him to another country which is a member of the Schengen States like Denmark, then he can freely enter into that country even without obtaining the necessary permit or visa from that particular country.

Letter of Invitation

If the purpose of the business transaction in Germany is to meet with a possible business associate who is a resident of Germany or other persons, a letter of invitation from the businessman based in Germany should also be attached to the application.
The letter of invitation should show the nature of the business activity to be conducted by the businessmen. Manila Visa adds that it would also be a good idea to include the possible length of stay of the applicant in the country, as well as the fact that after the business activity has been conducted, the applicant will freely leave the country.
